Mechanicsburg native Shane Gillis will headline a performance next summer at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
On Tuesday, the comedian announced the one-night only show at 8 p.m. July 17 at the home of the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles.
According to Deadline, the show will be the biggest one yet for Gillis, a Trinity High School graduate who has hosted Saturday Night Live and the ESPYS.
Lincoln Financial Field seats 60,000 people.
“Lincoln Financial Field is thrilled to set the stage this summer for one of the world’s biggest entertainers in Shane Gillis,” said Brian Napoli, senior vice president, Corporate Partnerships, Philadelphia Eagles.
Gillis has had a big year and is winding down a 39-city international tour that includes three shows in January at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Locally, he’s set to perform tonight to a sold out show at Harrisburg Comedy Zone in Fairview Township.
Gillis began doing stand-up comedy in central Pennsylvania before relocating to Philadelphia to further pursue his comedy career.
He stars in the scripted series “Tires” on Netflix and co-hosts “Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast” with fellow comedian Matt McCusker.
The July show will feature special guests, which will be announced at a later date.
Presale tickets are available today on Ticketmaster, while general ticket sales begin at 10 a.m. Nov. 28.
