Manchester City favourite Ederson has found himself in trouble in Turkey after a gesture in front of rival fans.
[A Spor cover the situation](https://www.aspor.com.tr/fenerbahce/2025/11/25/ederson-pfdkye-sevk-edildi), explaining that the former Manchester City goalkeeper has been referred to the PFDK. They’re the Professional Football Disciplinary Board. Profesyonel Futbol Disiplin Kurulu in Turkish.
The referral comes after Fenerbahçe won against Çaykur Rizespor over the weekend. Following the match, a video of the Brazilian goalkeeper on social media ‘sparked controversy’.
He was seen making a ‘hand gesture’ towards the home fans. The video shows him grabbing his groin area twice in a provocative manner. It’s seen him referred to the PFDK for his actions.
Fenerbahçe’s management has already completely preparations for the referral. They’re already preparing a comprehensive defence for the former Manchester City man. Quite what the defence will be, remains to be seen.
Ederson only joined the Turkish side in the summer from Manchester City. He’s kept five clean sheets in 11 games in all competitions since.
The goalkeeper has often had interactions with fans. Indeed, in the Istanbul derby this season, he attempted to volley a plastic cup back toward the crowd after they pelted him with them.
A video also went viral in 2023 which showed him mocking Arsenal fans after a 4-1 win over the Gunners. Now the latest incident has been reported, and he faces disciplinary action in front of the PFDK.
