Former Packers receiver Samari Toure has signed with the Broncos' practice squad.

The Green Bay Packers are 7-3-1 and just behind the Chicago Bears in the NFC North division standings.

The Packers have won two in a row against the New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings after losing two straight to the Carolina Panthers and Philadelphia Eagles.

The Packers’ offense is having a strong year. They sit 13th in points per game (23.9), 14th in yards per game (350.4), 16th in passing yards per game (233.9), and 15th in rushing yards per game (116.5).

The crowded wide receiver room in Green Bay is well-rounded. Romeo Doubs leads the way with 41 catches for 522 yards and four scores, and rookie Matthew Golden had 24 catches for 286 yards, with Christian Watson recording 17 catches for 283 yards and two scores despite playing just five games.

The Packers’ WR room has seen a lot of changes over the past few years, and one former WR found a new home on Tuesday as Samari Toure signed a deal with the New Orleans Saints.

Saints Add Samari Toure on Practice Squad Deal

Just days before Thanksgiving Day, Toure is joining the Saints on a practice squad deal, via Adam Schefter of ESPN.

“Saints are signing former Packers WR Samori Toure to their practice squad,” Schefter wrote on X.

The Packers selected Toure in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft after he played college football with the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Montana Grizzlies.

However, Toure caught just 13 passes for 160 yards with one score in 22 games with Green Bay.

He was with them for the 2022 and 2023 seasons, but he was cut in the final round of roster moves right before the 2024 NFL season.

Toure then joined the Bears and played during the 2025 preseason before being cut.

Toure then joined the Denver Broncos before being cut at the end of October, so it’s been a lot of changes for the former Packers draft pick.

Aaron Rodgers Once Raved About Toure

Former Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers once spoke highly of Toure after he was drafted by the team.

“They definitely look the part. All three of the guys we drafted obviously have the physical gifts. Obviously (Watson and Doubs) are bigger, but (Toure’s) got a lot of stuff to him,” Rodgers said, via Matt Reynoldson of ABC 15.

Toure caught a total of 201 passes for 3,386 yards with 25 touchdowns in college between his time with Montana and Nebraska.

Toure even led Nebraska in receiving yards (898) and receiving touchdowns (5) in his final season before coming to the NFL.

The Saints are 2-9 and have the second-worst record in the NFC in Kellen Moore’s first season as head coach. The offense has been subpar, but that is to be expected with a lot of changes coming into the 2025 season.

They also have Dante Pettis, Ronnie Bell, and Jha’Quan Jackson as other WRs on the practice squad, so Toure has some work to do in order to find his way onto the active roster.

Nonetheless, it is another change for the ex-Packers draft pick to catch on somewhere else after a few stints with different teams across the league.
