Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has dismissed speculation linking him with a switch to Barcelona, insisting he has had 'no contact' regarding a potential transfer. The 32-year-old has been persistently linked with a move to the Nou Camp.
He is seen as a possible successor to Robert Lewandowski, whose contract expires at the end of the campaign. Kane is understood to have a release clause in his Bayern Munich deal worth approximately €65 million (£57m).
However, the clause must be triggered by the player himself and runs out at the end of January. Therefore, time is running out for a decision to be made.
There has also been speculation surrounding a Premier League return, with reports suggesting a possible move back to Tottenham. He left the club for Bayern in the summer of 2023. In an interview with Bild, Kane addressed the transfer rumours.
He said: "I haven't had any contact with anyone, nobody has contacted me. I feel very comfortable in the current situation, even though we haven't yet discussed my situation with Bayern."
He continued: "There's no rush. I'm really happy in Munich. You can see that in the way I'm playing. If there's contact, then we'll see. But I'm not thinking about the new season yet.
"First up is the World Cup in the summer. And it's very unlikely that anything will change after this season."
When questioned whether Bayern supporters should be concerned, he replied: "I don't think so." Since his move to Germany, the England skipper has netted a remarkable 109 goals in 114 appearances for his club. He's set to return to London this week as Bayern Munich face Arsenal in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.
Kane boasts an impressive record against the Gunners, with 15 goals and two assists in his 21 competitive encounters with Tottenham's north London rivals. This includes a goal he netted in the 2023/24 Champions League quarter-finals, helping Bayern advance with a 3-2 aggregate victory.
A potential return to the Premier League could see Kane challenge Alan Shearer's longstanding goalscoring record. He is just 48 goals away from matching Shearer's tally of 260 - a record that has remained unbroken for nearly two decades.
