Davante Adams back to keeping defenses in fits (and so is Puka Nacua)
One of the reasons Stafford has been able to thrive this season is because of Davante Adams. The Rams already had a top young receiver in Puka Nacua, who is still third in the league in total receiving yardage (947 yards), thanks to a front-heavy performance in the year. And Nacua is still a huge threat to stretch the field, with 13 receptions of 15-plus yards, including a 39-yard touchdown.
It's Adams, though, who has become a go-to option in the red zone. His 12 touchdowns this season lead all receivers. Against the Bucs on Sunday Night Football, Adams caught five of his eight targets for 62 yards and two touchdowns, and 61 of his 62 yards came against single-high coverage, while one reception, a fade for a touchdown, came against Cover 0 on the 1-yard line.
Like Stafford, Adams has been in the league for years—this is his 12th season—and little surprises him. He is widely considered to have some of the best releases off the line of scrimmage as well, making him a technical magician and an interesting challenge for corners.
