Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have received a massive boost in their pursuit of Real Madrid mainstay Vinicius Junior.
According to a report from Fichajes, Arsenal have their eyes set on Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior, who appears to be unsettled at the Spanish club since the arrival of Xabi Alonso. The Gunners are ready to break the bank to secure his services, and they have received a boost in their pursuit.
Vinicius has only gone from strength to strength since joining Los Blancos from Flamengo back in 2018. He is widely regarded as one of the best wingers in the world. While he was a constant feature in their XI under Carlo Ancelotti, that hasn’t been the case under Alonso.
The Brazilian international has often found himself on the bench, and the situation hasn’t pleased him. It has resulted in a lot of talk about his future, and with only 18 months left on his deal, there is a possibility of him pushing for an exit.
Los Blancos have been working on a potential renewal for some time, but they have had little success. Following the disagreements between the manager and the player, the 25-year-old has informed Florentino Perez that he won’t be penning a new deal.
Arsenal plotting raid on Real Madrid
He isn’t pleased with the financial offer on the table, and his role in the team of late has made matters worse. If Vinicius is to leave the Spanish giants, Arsenal have emerged as a potential destination. The Gunners seek more quality on the left flank.
While they were linked with Rodrygo throughout the summer, the North London club now look set to target his teammate Vinicius. Since there is a possibility of him running down his deal and leaving for free, Los Blancos could be open to offers next summer.
The Gunners feel he could be a marquee signing for them and could help them dominate world football. As a result, they are willing to fork out a massive fee to get it over the line.
They have already received a boost as Vinicius is unwilling to sign an extension, and Real Madrid could now consider offers for him. However, the finances involved mean it still won’t be a straightforward pursuit.
