The Philadelphia Eagles have been dealing with a mountain of concerns within the offensive line this season, specifically with the health of the linemen.
They currently have Lane Johnson out for the time being with his foot injury. Other concerns are with Landon Dickerson and Cam Jurgens, who both have played all season but are not 100% due to multiple injuries.
As Philly enters the most crucial stretch of games this season, big questions are being asked about whether Dickerson and Jurgens should sit out a game to get healthy. While speaking on SportsRadio 94 WIP, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni responded to that question and shared his thoughts on it.
"Yeah you're doing everything you can do to win each game, but you're also always thinking about the players and their health and if they're healthy to play, then they go. And if they're not, they don't. Make no mistake about it, those guys are warriors. They are grinding to do everything they can to play each and every game. When they can't, you know, we're always going to do what's best for them."
Should Dickerson and Jurgens sit out a game?
One thing Eagles fans know about Sirianni is that at the end of the season, he will rest his guys. It was a controversial move last year with Saquon Barkley so close to the rushing record in a season, but all the starters rested in the final week of the season, and that ended in a Super Bowl title, so it was a good move on Sirianni's part.
Sirianni did it in 2023 as well, benching the starters in the second half of the last game of the year against the New York Giants to protect them from injury. That didn't do much to help, as the Eagles lost the following week in the playoffs to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but it reflects the mindset he has.

Unless Dickerson or Jurgens say something, Sirianni is most likely going to let them play. It's more about what happens at the end of the season. At the pace the Eagles are going, they are close to losing out on the NFC, but can still be the division champs. That might inspire Sirianni to sit his starters in Week 18 to get ready for the playoffs.
