Everton’s 1-0 win over Manchester United on Monday evening was one that will stick in the memory for a long time – for fans of both clubs, and for neutrals.
For Everton, it was a historic win at a stadium where they have struggled in the past, with only three wins in the Premier League era after their 1-0 triumph.
For Manchester United, it was a shocking display, one that saw them lose at home against 10 men for the first time in their Premier League history, and for the neutral, there was the drama of Idrissa Gana Gueye’s sending off.
However, whilst David Moyes will be basking in the win, he will have run the rule over Tim Iroegbunam, who impressed on the night.

Everton will have been impressed by Tim Iroegbunam on Monday
Iroegbunam has hardly been an outstanding buy in his time at Everton after joining from Aston Villa last summer.
However, the 22-year-old has slowly become dependable when called upon, playing in nine of Everton’s 12 top-flight games this season and featuring heavily towards the end of last season.
The midfielder has recorded two assists this season, but when he was needed against Manchester United, he put in a real shift.

Brought on for Iliman Ndiaye with 10 minutes to go, the midfielder sat in against a pushing United side.
Completing three of his four passes to retain possession, the Birmingham-born midfielder won his only tackle and his only ground duel, being the perfect foil to halt the Red Devils.
Tim Iroegbunam has been linked with a move away from Everton but he’s more vital than ever now
There had been talk of Iroegbunam being for sale, given he wasn’t quite up to scratch under David Moyes, with calls to sell the midfielder.
However, at such a young age and doing so well in a pressurised situation, he was ideal for the Toffees.
A night to remember for Everton. It was their first Premier League win at Old Trafford since 2013.
Idrissa Gana Gueye’s sending off means that he will be needed in central midfield until the festive period, and if he can impress in the coming weeks it could be his place to lose.
Iroegbunam almost has 50 Premier League appearances already for the Toffees and Aston Villa combined and those experiences will be vital going forward for David Moyes as Everton aim to secure a European spot.
