Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers made several practice squad moves this week, including waiving linebacker Mark Robinson.
After waiving linebacker Mark Robinson before the start of the 2025 NFL season, the Pittsburgh Steelers found a way to bring back the former seventh-round pick. But Tuesday, the organization parted ways with the linebacker a second time in three months.
The Steelers announced ahead of Week 13 they signed defensive lineman Anthony Goodlow and wide receiver Cornell Powell to their practice squad.
In corresponding moves, the Steelers waived Robinson and defensive back Daequan Hardy to create practice squad space.
Robinson arrived in Pittsburgh as the No. 225 overall selection during the seventh round in the 2022 NFL Draft. At the end of his rookie season, there was chatter among the team’s pundits and fan base that Robinson could be a starter entering his second campaign.
But instead, the Steelers added numerous inside linebackers in the draft and free agency over the next two years. In August 2025, the team waived Robinson ahead of the NFL’s roster cutdown day.
Robinson rejoined the Steelers through their practice squad on November 4. In two games with Pittsburgh this season, he didn’t posted any statistics. Robinson played zero snaps on defense while lining up for 10 on special teams.
