### DBs Kyler Gordon, Jaylon Johnson inch closer to return
The Chicago Bears lead the NFL with 24 takeaways this season. And now, they might get two of their top defensive backs on the field for the eagerly anticipated Black Friday showdown with the Eagles.
Nickel cornerback Kyler Gordon and outside cornerback Jaylon Johnson are designated to return from Injured Reserve. They weren't activated for Sunday's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, but would have been full participants in practice on Tuesday. The Bears held a walkthrough, so Tuesday's injury report is an estimation.
Gordon has played in just two games this season, limited by a hamstring injury earlier in the year and now a calf injury. He hasn't played since the Bears' Week 7 win over the Saints. Former Eagle C.J. Gardner-Johnson was signed to play the nickel position in Gordon's absence.
Johnson, a two-time Pro Bowl selection, has played in only one game thus far this year due to multiple groin injuries. Johnson's return comes at an opportune time as cornerback Tyrique Stevenson would not have practiced on Tuesday due to a hip injury. Nashone Wright has started in place of Johnson, while Nick McCloud came into Sunday's game after Stevenson's injury.
Another former Eagle, linebacker T.J. Edwards, has been sidelined with hand and hamstring injuries. Edwards would not have practiced on Tuesday. Edwards' replacement, Ruben Hyppolite II, exited Sunday's game with a shoulder injury and would not have practiced on Tuesday. Amen Ogbongbemiga replaced him. The Bears are already without Pro Bowl linebacker Tremaine Edmunds, who was placed on Injured Reserve before the Week 12 win over the Steelers and linebacker Noah Sewell has been sidelined with an elbow injury.
Left tackle Theo Benedet is on pace to return to the starting lineup after being inactive against the Steelers with a quad injury. Rookie Ozzy Trapilo started for Benedet. Luke Newman, who was Chicago's sixth OL in jumbo packages against Pittsburgh, did not practice due to a foot injury. He played 22 offensive snaps in the win over the Steelers.
Defensive lineman Dominque Robinson suffered a concussion in the fourth quarter of Sunday's win and is in the concussion protocol.
