Dolphins predicted to add weapon for Tua Tagovailoa

The Miami Dolphins have surprisingly started to play a bit better over the past few weeks and have even put themselves in a position to be in the hunt for the playoffs, as crazy as that might have sounded just a month ago.

With games against the New Orleans Saints, New York Jets, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Cincinnati Bengals over the next four weeks, the Dolphins have a real opportunity to win six games in a row and improve their record to 8–7.

Of course, the Dolphins will have to prove that, as they haven’t exactly played well for most of the season.

As of now, the Dolphins hold the 11th overall pick in the NFL Draft, and depending on how they play over the remainder of the year, that could have an impact on what they decide to do.

Mike Renner of CBS Sports recently predicted that they would take Spencer Fano, an interior offensive lineman out of the University of Utah.

“This one is predicated on Mike McDaniel still being the head coach, as Fano is the perfect fit for his offense. He's an incredibly athletic run blocker who could slot in at either guard or tackle,” he wrote.

As Renner touched on, part of this pick could be dependent on what Miami wants to do with McDaniel, and if it plans to keep him as head coach, but according to Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN, there’s reason to believe that McDaniel might be around next season.

“For a couple reasons, the first of which being Ross's realization that the Dolphins' most prevalent issue was their roster construction, not their coaching. Grier oversaw two massive projects starting in 2019, which saw the Dolphins strip their roster down and stockpile draft picks,” he wrote.
