The [San Francisco 49ers](https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/san-francisco-49ers) have had a somewhat strange year, but most of that is due to the injuries they’ve dealt with on both sides of the football.
Nonetheless, despite the season being odd, the 49ers are still winning games at a very high level, sitting at 8-4.
Unfortunately, they’re in third place in the NFC West, but if they continue to win games, they should find themselves in the playoffs no matter what.
Currently holding the No. 23 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, Mike Renner of CBS Sports took a look at who they could select and predicted that they’d end up with T.J. Parker, an edge rusher out of Clemson.
“Parker has had a disappointing season, but the physical talent is obviously still there. He's a powerful three-down 4-3 defensive end. His addition would provide the 49ers some insurance with Nick Bosa's health and give them a rotation of edge rushers,” [he wrote](https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/2026-nfl-mock-draft-thin-qb-class-desperate-teams/).
Parker proved during his time at Clemson that he could be one of the better college players in the country.
Unfortunately for the youngster, Clemson hasn’t been great during his time with the program.
That’s not necessarily anything to fault him for, but it’s also fair to mention that he has only two sacks this season, which would be by far the fewest of his career in a Tigers uniform.
