Man United have been credited with interest in a Real Madrid star heading into the January transfer window.
The Red Devils looked like they had begun to click under Amorim, as they were unbeaten for five games in a row, but they tasted defeat on Monday with a 1-0 loss to Everton. The United boss will be frustrated and likely wishing that he had more difference-makers in his squad.
Vinicius Jr could leave Real Madrid
He was heard complaining about getting substituted in a recent game to Real Madrid’s President, Fiorentino Perez, in a recent meeting: “Always me, I’m leaving the team, it’s better if I leave, I’m leaving.”
The winger has declined to sign a new deal, which has put both Man United and Liverpool on alert, as the Premier League duo have both had historic interest in Vinicius Jr, and so, a potential swap deal between United and Real Madrid has emerged, which would break the internet.
Man United could swap Fernandes and Mainoo for Vinicius Jr
Vinicius Jr is estimated to be worth around £130m, so if United want to sign him, they would likely have to offer a lot back, especially if they were to complete a swap, which would be financially more of a sensible decision.
As previously mentioned, Bruno Fernandes was linked with a move away from Old Trafford in the summer, and with his contract, like Vini’s, due to expire in June 2027, United will be keen to sell him in the summer before he could potentially leave as a free agent a year later. United could offer Fernandes as an attacking replacement for Vinicius Jr, and it certainly couldn’t be doubted that the Man United captain isn’t good enough to play for Madrid.
He is worth over £40m, so United would need to add more, and that more could be Kobbie Mainoo, who has also been linked with leaving the club. Mainoo has already requested a loan move to get more game time, which United have refused. But, if they got the chance to include him in a swap deal for Vinicius Jr, they surely would bite at the chance.
Mainoo is also estimated to be worth around £40m, but the Red Devils value him higher due to his potential as he is still just 20. If United were to offer Madrid this swap for Vinicius Jr, it could potentially make every football fan on social media go absolutely crazy.
