Had the original match been completed with the same scoreline, Everton would have won the League Championship by a point over Newcastle. Instead, they finished in second place.

He scored his 100th League goal for Liverpool during their 1-1 draw against Ipswich in a First Division clash. Prior to his time at Liverpool, Dalglish had netted 111 League goals for Celtic.
