Ruben Amorim named Manchester United academy star Shea Lacey on the bench to face Everton at Old Trafford.
Unfortunately, Shea Lacey was an unused substitute in the 1-0 defeat to Everton. But simply being involved in a first-team matchday squad is still a positive learning experience for the 18-year-old star.
Ruben Amorim has been impressed by Lacey in first-team training at Carrington, and it earned the young winger a spot on the bench at the Theatre of Dreams.
Lacey is a ‘mercurial’ talent and it feels as though it is just a matter of time until he breaks through and makes his senior debut.

Shea Lacey posts about Man Utd vs Everton
Despite United lacking attacking options, Amorim did not roll the dice on Lacey making a difference against Everton – in hindsight, he might regret not giving the young winger a chance.
Regardless, it is still a step forward for Lacey, and he took to social media to share photos from his matchday experience.

When Shea Lacey will make his Man Utd debut
United are set to lose Amad Diallo, Bryan Mbeumo and Noussair Mazraoui to AFCON in the coming weeks.
Despite United doing their best to keep AFCON stars as long as possible, Amorim will be short of options up front, and that should provide a golden opportunity for Lacey.
Just as United’s trio jet off to compete in AFCON, United have a hectic fixture list over the winter, meaning Amorim will need to rotate more often.
