John Terry's message to Estevao Willian after stunning goal vs Barcelona

Estevao Willian and John Terry have something in common: they have both beaten Barcelona as Chelsea players.

In his first appearance against the Catalan club, Estevao was able to inspire Chelsea to a 3-0 victory.

The winger scored a terrific goal in the second half of Chelsea’s latest Champions League tie and has come in for plenty of praise since then.

Estevao really caught the attention of Gianfranco Zola with his performance against Barcelona, as well as another Chelsea legend in Terry.

After Estevao’s strike past Joan Garcia, Terry took to his TikTok to show his appreciation for the 18-year-old’s talent.

His goal against Hansi Flick’s side means Estevao has now scored in three consecutive Champions League games.

That is some feat, especially for an 18-year-old who has only just started playing European football.

Chelsea have another hard game next, facing Arsenal in a battle at the top of the Premier League.

Despite an impressive display on Tuesday, there is no guarantee that Estevao will start, though many Chelsea fans will be hoping that he does.

Estevao Willian’s stats vs Barcelona

Chelsea fans will not forget about Estevao’s stunning strike against Barcelona any time soon, but that was not his only contribution. He also created several chances for Enzo Maresca’s team.

In total, the Brazilian registered three key passes, showing that he can be both a goalscorer and playmaker. It is perhaps why Maresca envisions him playing as a No.10 in the future.

When Maresca spoke about Estevao after Chelsea’s win over Ajax last month, he said: “Now Estevao is playing wide, but in the future, I think he’s more an inside player.”

If that is what the Chelsea manager is planning to do with Estevao, it will be interesting to see what he does with Cole Palmer. Palmer is undroppable, though, so leaving him out of the team will not be an option. Rather, it will be a matter of how Maresca gets them both to play together if he does want to move Estevao into a more central role.
