Malik Nabers swiftly erased a social media post on X that slammed his squad following the New York Giants' defeat to the Detroit Lions. Missing several key offensive players and star quarterback Jaxson Dart, the Giants relied on Jameis Winston to try to salvage their season.
The seasoned quarterback nearly pulled off the miracle, guiding New York to the brink of an overtime shocker, but the Lions escaped with a 34-27 victory.

Watching from the sidelines due to injury, Nabers voiced his frustration over the Giants' most recent setback, questioning the team's strategic choices. The standout receiver's remarks surface just weeks after head coach Brian Daboll was brutally axed by New York. It comes as the Giants made a ruthless change after Donald Trump's criticism.

"Sometimes I think they b makin us lose on purpose!" the X post started. "Cause it's no way, bro you throw the ball instead of runnin it to make em burn 2 timeouts? ? then you dnt kick the field goal.? ? ? Then they have to go down and score! ! ! Football common sense! ! ! ! Am I missing something?".

The message vanished rapidly, but not before supporters managed to capture screenshots and share them widely.
However, when fans did catch the post, many felt the star receiver made valid points, even though his critique appeared poorly timed given how it was shared then removed, reports the Irish Star.
"He's right. It's too obvious. There's no way Shane Bowen didn't get fired after Dallas much less all these and Green Bay. Maybe we can ask Bowen/kafka specifically what is the actual reason beyond 'we have to be better I have to be better' is for this?" a fan wrote on X in response. One fan chimed in, "Where is he wrong?"
I was shocked that [Mike] Kafka went for it there, gotta go up 6 and force them to have to score td to win..."
Another supporter suggested that while Nabers may have had a point, airing his grievances on social media might not have been the best approach, especially given the Giants' ongoing struggles and injury woes this season."

"He's thinking of the common sense when you have a competent defense. That does not apply to the Giants. Maybe that's why he deleted," one fan speculated. "I'd have unexpectedly QB sneaked on 2nd down if I was going for it on 4th. But the 2nd down pass play did work. Winston just kinda missed Theo."
Post-game, head coach Kafka faced questions from the press about his controversial decisions.
"Yeah, you know, we did want to be aggressive," he started. "Just thought it was a good time to just take points in that situation, go up two scores, and just, you know, we had a good flow, you know, wanted to just go up two scores." a fan wrote on X in response.
He continued: "Yeah, we're just trying to score as many points as possible and trying to win the game. So if we're going to be aggressive on fourth down, that means that we like to play call like we want to do.

"I think there's times in the game where you just got to take that into consideration of, you know, when you want to kick a field goal, when you want to go for a touchdown.
"I thought all game we had really good consensus and really good communication with the entire staff, our game management crew, on when we wanted to be aggressive and be calculated when we can go for fourth downs and take shots at the end zone."
Kafka also backed Bowen, simply saying: "I have a lot of confidence in Shane and his entire staff."
