Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres missed the Gunners’ win against Tottenham over the weekend due to an injury.
The Swedish striker made 10 Premier League appearances for Arsenal before he suffered an injury against Burnley at the start of November. He’s scored four goals so far, and impressed at times, but he’s not had the chance to really kick on so far.

After he suffered his injury, Gyokeres missed an international break for Sweden, and he also missed Arsenal’s 1-0 win against Spurs over the weekend. The striker hopes to return for Arsenal’s next game, which is a Champions League clash against Bayern Munich.
Otherwise, Gyokeres will have his sights on Sunday when the Gunners make a short trip to Stamford Bridge for a real Premier League six pointer against Chelsea.
Arteta provides vague Gyokeres injury update
It is not yet clear whether Gyokeres will be fit for the Bayern Munich match, but manager Mikel Arteta hopes he will have his striker back for the huge game against the German champions.
Arteta said before the Spurs game when referring to both Gyokeres and Martin Odegaard: “We will see how some of them are feeling, whether it’s a bit too close for this game, or whether they feel they can have a contribution. We will have more clarity. There is a possibility that some of them could be in the squad.”
Seeing as Arteta said there was a possibility for an appearance against Spurs, a return against Bayern looks very doable for Gyokeres, it will just depend upon if Arteta wants to take the risk.
Based on the fact that Arsenal are already perfect in terms of wins in the Champions League, they could rest the striker and then save him for the massive Premier League clash against Chelsea on Sunday. If the Gunners beat the Blues, they will go a huge nine points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
