With FC Barcelona likely to move on from Robert Lewandowski at the end of the season, the club are already scouring the market for possible replacements for the veteran centre-forward.
And, one of the most prominent names on the radars of the La Liga champions happens to be Bayern Munich superstar Harry Kane.
The England international will be entering the final year of his contract at the Allianz Arena in the summer and has an affordable release clause worth €65 million in his contract, which makes him a viable target for Barça.
Bayern Munich not concerned
However, Bayern Munich’s sporting director, Max Eberl, has made it clear that the club is calm about any talk linking Harry Kane with Barcelona.
Speaking in an interview with BILD (h/t SPORT), Eberl confirmed that Bayern Munich are not at all concerned about Kane and his future, and confirmed that the club will meet with him to begin talks to renew his contract soon.
“We will meet with Kane in January 2026 to discuss his future, as we had agreed. I think we can all see that he is happy at Bayern and how comfortable he feels here,” said Eberl.
“I’m not really too worried about Kane leaving us, despite everything that is being said,” he added.

Eberl went further and stated that Kane is in the best moment of his career, and that Bayern offers him a major opportunity to win important honours both individually and collectively.
“In my opinion, Harry can definitely have a big impact on the Ballon d’Or voting this year because of the season he’s having and what he did last year,” noted the Bavarians’ director.
“It’s incredible what he’s achieving and I think he should be in the top three for this award, at the very least. If I were voting, I’d have no hesitation in putting him first because of everything he gives on the pitch. He’s a very important player for us.”
Eberl’s words make it clear that Bayern want to continue relying on Kane and that in January, they may propose a contract extension.
Moreover, Kane himself made it clear in a recent interview that it was unlikely he would be changing clubs in the summer.
“It’s very unlikely that anything will change next season,” Kane said.
“There’s no rush. I’m happy at Bayern and that shows in the way I play. If there are any contacts, we’ll see.”
