Liverpool could name only eight players on the bench against PSV in the Champions League due to injuries and no further academy players added to their matchday squad.
Arne Slot remains without Giovanni Leoni, Conor Bradley, Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz due to injury, while youngsters Jayden Danns and Stefan Bajcetic are also still sidelined.
Liverpool’s head coach oversaw a 20-man outfield squad during training on Tuesday afternoon, but only 18 are eligible against PSV, a match that allows a squad size of 23.
Full-back duo Calvin Ramsay and James Norris were involved in the session but are too old to be added to List B in the Champions League.
Kaide Gordon, meanwhile, was the only player in training who could have been added if registered by the midnight deadline, but Liverpool have opted against adding the 21-year-old for the Anfield match.
Why Liverpool could have 8-man bench vs. PSV
Liverpool submitted a 22-man squad for the league phase of the Champions League, with Federico Chiesa later replacing Leoni due to his long-term ACL injury.
The squad is then supplemented by a host of young players if and when added to List B, which allows an unlimited number of players to be registered by midnight the day before a game.
However, for PSV’s visit, no new List B names have been added by Liverpool. This means they are all but capped to a squad size of 20 (which includes nine substitutes) due to their injuries.
The Champions League permits a matchday squad of 23 players, including 12 substitutes.

Liverpool, however, could yet have an eight-man bench if Trey Nyoni represents the U19s in their UEFA Youth League match earlier in the day, as he has done in every European game so far this season.
The 18-year-old is registered for the Anfield fixture but has also been named in the U19s squad against PSV, which kicks off at 2pm (GMT) at the academy.
It is also almost guaranteed that Slot will have two goalkeepers on his bench, Giorgi Mamardashvili and Freddie Woodman, leaving, at most, only seven outfield options.
It is far from ideal, as is the fitness question marks over Joe Gomez after Slot revealed the defender needed a painkilling injection for a knee injury last week.
