Packers fans are losing it with reactions to Jeff Hafley’s Micah Parsons ‘Enter Sandman’ plan

Green Bay Packers star pass rusher Micah Parsons is a scary sight on the field for opposing teams; it can get more terrifying for them if one possible plan pushes through.

On Tuesday, Green Bay defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley shared the idea of Parsons entering games at Lambeau Field in big moments, while “Enter Sandman” of Metallica plays in the background.

ViaMatt Schneidman of The Athletic:

Jeff Hafley said Micah Parsons is open to the idea of Lambeau Field playing “Enter Sandman” when he comes on the field to close a game. Parsons doesn’t know anything about baseball, so Hafley educated him on Mariano Rivera.

This would not be the first time that the song has been tied to a sports-related event. Of course, former New York Yankees star closer Mariano Rivera used to come out of the bullpen to that song before getting the job done on the mound. Also, the Virginia Tech Hokies football team is known for pumping up the crowd in home games with that famous riff from arguably the best metal band of all time during home games.

Parsons to make ‘Mariano Rivera’ move in Packers games?

Whether that idea turns into reality or not, Parsons will always be expected to deliver for Green Bay. So far in the 2025 NFL season, hehas 10.0 sacksand 20 quarterback hits through 11 games.

Meanwhile, fans have mixed reactions to the possibility of Parsons coming into crucial late-game scenarios to the sound of the iconic hard metal tune.

“Let’s not have a game closing song. Let’s just win the damn game. Imagine how embarrassing you play a “closer” song and somehow blow it. Awful.,” said a fan on X.

Another one said: “Just make it the Packers song to start the fourth quarter like the Badgers do with jump around.”

From a commenter: “I do not understand the hype of the song. Probably a bad take, but I don’t feel it. Give me some CRAZYTRAIN!”

“That’s so lame man at the very least give the dude his own song,” a social media user posted.

Via a different commenter: “Wow Hafley has elite ball knowledge.”

Said another: “Hell they should do it in intros.”
