FC Barcelona travelled to London to face Chelsea in the Champions League, and it turned into a nightmare for the Catalan side, [who suffered a 3–0 loss to the Blues](https://semprebarca.com/three-talking-points-as-barcelona-get-humiliated-3-0-by-chelsea-at-stamford-bridge/). It was an absolute pasting and could have been worse.
Estevao, Delap, and an own goal helped Chelsea beat Hansi Flick’s team, and Ronald Araujo was sent off for the Catalans. Once that happened, there was no hope of a comeback, although Enzo Maresca’s side was the superior team on the night, regardless.
After the game, as quoted by [Mundo Deportivo](https://www.mundodeportivo.com/futbol/fc-barcelona/20251125/1002576057/flick-necesitamos-mas-agresivos-mas-fisicos-dinamicos.html), Hansi Flick offered an honest, clear, and realistic assessment of his side’s loss to Chelsea. He said:
**“We had the chance to score first, and then with one player fewer, it’s not easy. We fought, I saw some positives, but we lost easy balls and made easy passes under pressure. We have to analyse it, but I want to think positively.”**
Flick went on to highlight the London club’s superiority in aerial duels and stressed that his team needed to play more aggressively. He said:
**“They were more physical and dynamic. I think we need to play more aggressively. Our game is good, the one-on-ones are good, but when you look at Chelsea, they were more physical and dynamic in the one-on-ones, and that’s what I want for my team.”**
The German manager then underlined the need for a higher competitive level, especially when facing a Premier League team in the Champions League. He continued:
**“In the Champions League and against a Premier League team, you have to fight more and play more aggressively.”**
Flick is spot on in his assessment. Barcelona were inferior to Chelsea in every aspect of the game, which is not what you expect from the Catalan club. The team was simply not at the required level last night.
With just three games left in the League Phase, the Catalan club finds themselves in a tricky position to secure a top-eight finish. Flick will want to see improvements in the upcoming fixtures, and we will have to wait and see how the team responds.
