Enzo Maresca shuts up Jamie Carragher with Chelsea victories over Barcelona and Liverpool
This follows a season where Enzo Maresca delivered two trophies to the club, including the Club World Cup triumph in the United States.
Back in August, Jamie Carragher was dismissive of Chelsea’s victory across the pond, making the point that it was not so impressive because they hadn’t had to beat the likes of Liverpool and Barcelona on the road to the final.
He said to The Overlap: “It’s not a proper competition, how can you be Champions of the World if the Champions of England, Spain and Italy weren’t even in it.”
Since then, the Blues have downed Liverpool at Stamford Bridge, and last night proved they were by far the superior side against Barcelona.
They will have the chance to complete the hat-trick when they meet Antonio Conte’s Napoli side later on in the group stages.

Carragher has praised Maresca for the work he is doing in West London, however seems to sometimes make comments with the intention of riling up the Blues fanbase.
He predicted Chelsea wouldn’t qualify for the knockout stage of the Champions League, despite the fact that 24 sides would reach that point in the competition.#
