Liverpool and Scotland left-back Andy Robertson has hailed a ‘fantastic’ player who currently plays for Manchester United.
It hasn’t been an easy start to the season for Manchester United or Liverpool, although Ruben Amorim’s side came out on top when the two teams met at Anfield in October.
Liverpool are bound to be unhappy with how they’ve defended the Premier League title thus far because it doesn’t look like they will be involved in a title race this season.
Meanwhile, United are hoping to return to the top four to qualify for the Champions League. That will prove to be an even bigger challenge for both teams unless they start winning football matches consistently.
For instance, United and Liverpool lost to teams in the bottom half of the table at the weekend, with just two places between them in the standings.
United lost 1-0 against Everton on Monday, and Nottingham Forest defeated Liverpool on Saturday.
Both teams need to improve their results ahead of the second half of the season if they’re to qualify for the Champions League or Europa League.

Andy Robertson hails Harry Maguire
It’s been a difficult season for Andy Robertson in terms of game time at Liverpool.
The 31-year-old has started just two games in the Premier League, with Arne Slot preferring new signing Milos Kerkez to his reliable Scottish full-back.
Robertson has been talking about his friendship with United defender Harry Maguire, who he knows from their time at Hull City, having signed for the club on the same day in July 2014.
They were two young defenders at the time, trying to step up, which they managed to do by becoming key players at top Premier League clubs later in their careers.
“Yeah, I still see Harry,” Robertson said on the One on One podcast by Sky Sports.
“I think we live pretty close to each other, so we always bump into each other and things like that. Obviously, signing on the same day for Hull City, we probably never expected to be where we’re both at, how successful he’s been for club and country.
“He’s a fantastic player, fantastic person as well. I was very lucky to spend a good couple of years with him at Hull and signed the same day. And we were both young at that time, so we tried to relax our nerves and things like that.
“Going first day into training, kind of clung on to each other at the start. But yeah, he’s had an amazing career so far and he’s probably still got a lot to achieve as well. And I’m sure he’ll be looking forward to going to the World Cup of England as well.”
Although Robertson claims Maguire will be looking forward to going to the World Cup, the experienced centre-back hasn’t been called up to recent England squads.
Maguire is currently out of action with an injury, while United welcome the return of Lisandro Martinez.

The Scotland international won seven, drew seven and lost seven of those games.
He’s never scored against United, but Robertson has managed to register two assists against the Red Devils down the years.
