Opinion: Eddie Howe will be dreading trip to Everton's Hill Dickinson Stadium after what Oliver …

Everton play host to Newcastle United in the Premier League at the Hill Dickinson Stadium this weekend.

David Moyes’ side have just beaten Manchester United at Old Trafford, so they’ll be heading into this game full of confidence.

Newcastle, meanwhile, suffered a 2-1 defeat to Marseille in the Champions League on Tuesday evening, despite taking the lead.

They’re also struggling in the league, having suffered defeat in three of their last five games, which has caused some supporters to question Eddie Howe’s position.

With that said, Howe won’t be looking forward to facing Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium after what Oliver Glasner said last month.

Why Eddie Howe will dread facing Everton at Hill Dickinson Stadium

Everton have only lost one game at their new Hill Dickinson Stadium, so clearly it’s quickly become one of the toughest grounds to play at in the Premier League.

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner can testify to that statement, as back in October, he said the atmosphere at the new ground was actually the difference maker in the 2-1 defeat they suffered to the Toffees.

“The crowd was here, the stadium was loud and they got the confidence back and then I think it was one situation where it was decided,” Glasner admitted in his post-match press conference.

With that said, Howe certainly won’t be best pleased that he may have to get a result at the Hill Dickinson to save his job at Newcastle.

A section of the Newcastle fanbase turned on their manager last night, so he’ll be feeling the pressure heading into Saturday’s game.

Everton’s recent record vs Newcastle United

Everton actually have a pretty decent record against Newcastle in recent times, as they’ve lost just one of their last five meetings.

The last fixture saw Moyes’ side go to St James’ Park and win 1-0 on the final day of last season, with Carlos Alcaraz netting the winner.

The Toffees will be bang up for this clash, as if they were to secure their third win in a row, they could move within touching distance of the top four.

Although, Moyes will be without Idrissa Gana Gueye, who is serving a three-game suspension after his red card against Man United.
