Estevao was the star of the show as Chelsea enjoyed a sensational 3-0 home win over Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
The 18-year-old stole the spotlight from fellow teenage superstar Lamine Yamal as he scored a stunning second goal to send Stamford Bridge into raptures and underline his growing status as one of Europe’s most exciting young talents.
After joining Chelsea from Palmeiras in July, Estevao has been nothing short of exceptional, scoring five goals and providing an assist in just eight starts for the club.
He has also starred for the Brazilian national side, scoring four goals in his last four appearances, including two during November’s international break.
Estevao Had Opportunity to Join Barcelona

Speaking after Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Barcelona, senior GIVEMESPORT correspondent Fabrizio Romano revealed that Estevao could have ended up with Tuesday’s opponents before completing his move to Stamford Bridge.
The 'phenomenal' 18-year-old forward reportedly had an opportunity to take his talents to the Nou Camp, as his agent, Andre Cury, shares a very good relationship with the Catalan club.
While talks never advanced, Estevao was also the subject of interest from reigning Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain.
The Ligue 1 side entered discussions with the promising winger but were put off by Palmeiras’ asking price before Chelsea stepped in to complete the deal for the emerging superstar in May 2024:
“The reality is that Estevao agent, Andre Cury, has a very good relationship and very good connections with Barcelona, but Estevao was never close to joining Barca.
“He had this opportunity, but it was a long time ago, when Estevao was almost a wonderkid, not even a top pro player in Brazil.
“But in terms of advanced conversations, the club that really tried to sign Estevao was Paris Saint-Germain.
“Paris Saint-Germain went into conversations with Estevao, but the whole package with Palmeiras was too expensive, so they left the conversations for Estevao. But PSG tried and then Chelsea decided to go all in.”

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca was full of praise for both Estevao and Lamine Yamal following their long-anticipated battle on Tuesday.
When speaking to beIN SPORTS, the Italian tactician compared the two young starlets to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in a huge nod to the extraordinary ceilings both players possess.
“It has been a fantastic night for the players, for the club, for the fans... As Raphinha said, Estevao and Yamal will probably be the next Messi and Ronaldo.”
Estevao’s goal on Tuesday meant he scored for the third game in a row in the Champions League, with the forward also netting in recent meetings with Qarabag and Ajax.

Having lost just once in their last 11 games across all competitions, Chelsea will be hosting Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday.
The Blues have not won against their London rivals on the last seven occasions, with their last victory coming in August 2021.
