Nuno Espirito Santo welcomes Liverpool to the London Stadium on Saturday before a trip to Manchester United.

West Ham are hoping to have a significant injury boost ahead of fixtures against Liverpool and Manchester United over the next eight days.

The Hammers are buoyed by a three match unbeaten run, despite dropping points against AFC Bournemouth on Saturday. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side had taken a 2-0 lead in the first half before finishing the fixture with the score at 2-2.

It was an impressive start to that match at the Vitality Stadium with Callum Wilson bagging a brace. West Ham have struggled for attacking output so far this season.

West Ham star managing injury blow

Nuno isn’t helped by the injury problems of wantaway talisman Niclas Fullkrug and, even as Wilson finds form, the former Newcastle United man is having to have his minutes managed. One player who the West Ham boss has relied upon is winger Crysencio Summerville.

The 24-year-old had started every match under Nuno’s tenure but missed out of the matchday squad against AFC Bournemouth. Summerville has not recorded an assist since the two he picked up against Nottingham Forest in August, but his pace and drive remains important for the London outfit.

ExWHUEmployee had confirmed that Summerville missed out from the squad against AFC Bournemouth with a new injury problem but that it was hoped to be a minor problem. The forward has had a rough time with injuries since moving to West Ham from Leeds United in the summer of 2024, so any fresh worry would need to be handled with caution.

Nuno hopes to welcome back ‘difference-maker’ against Liverpool and Man Utd

However, The Standard believes that Summerville is to return to first team training this week ahead of taking on out of sorts Liverpool on Sunday afternoon. That would be a boost with a trip to take on Manchester United at Old Trafford coming on the Thursday afterwards.

Nuno was forced to hand 19-year-old Luis Guilherme just his second Premier League start against AFC Bournemouth but was labelled a ‘flop’ by Hammers News with a ‘lack of strength and positivity’ in his showing.

Speaking about Summerville last month, Nuno had praised the speedster. He said: "With the position that he occupies, he has to make a difference by his speed, by his talent. But I was really pleased with Summerville. Really pleased. And I believe that he can give us big, big help in the future. Starting at his former club, hopefully."
