Kevin De Bruyne joined Napoli after his exit from Manchester City in the summer. Now, Italian clubs could be looking to sign another experienced star from the Etihad.
Calciomercato note that the player in question is Bernardo Silva, and the De Bruyne swoop is of course mentioned.
The Portuguese attacker’s contract at Manchester City runs out in 2026.
This situation appeals to both AC Milan and Juventus, who believe Bernardo can still perform at the highest level. There is an indication that the 31-year-old would like to stay in Europe, even if he interests clubs in Saudi Arabia.
Both Milan and Juve have already made contact to find out about the midfielder’s plans.
Their only problem would be Bernardo’s current wages at Manchester City. He earns €10.1m per season net and Italian sides can’t afford that, unless they make exceptions.
That is what Napoli did for De Bruyne in the summer. The Belgian is yet to fully impose himself and is currently injured, Milan have also had success with Luka Modric’s signing.
So far this season, Bernardo has played 16 times in all competitions, and has two assists in the Premier League.
