Leeds United have scheduled for Daniel Farke to conduct his pre-match press conference ahead of this weekend’s clash with Manchester City for Thursday afternoon at 1.30pm.

The German’s future at Elland Road has been the subject of much speculation following five defeats in six games. Following the 2-1 loss to Aston Villa on Sunday, Farke said he was not worried for “one second” about his position.

Asked about whether had received any assurances from the Leeds hierarchy about his role, he replied: "No, we don't have to speak about this topic, because this is not a topic I think one second about. It's not the question I am worried about for one second.”

This weekend, United both dropped into the relegation zone and dipped below their point-per-game aim for the first time this season. But with Man City, Chelsea and Liverpool to play in the next three games, fans are concerned that the club might dig itself into a rut it cannot escape from under Farke.

Club sources insisted as of Tuesday afternoon that it was ‘business as usual’ for now. The 49ers Enterprises have previously made it clear that they will not speak out in response to speculation.

Speaking to reporters in May, while confirming Farke would stay as manager heading into the new season, chairman Paraag Marathe said: “I am someone who will speak when I have something to say and and when I feel like it's the right time for me.

"I'm not one to respond because some random gossip paper wants to say something. I'm not going to make comments based on rumours and gossip.”

Last month, Leeds Live revealed that decision-makers will not make any calls on Farke based on one or two results alone, but the overall picture.

Chiefs have plotted out where they expect to be at any given point in the season based on the odds of beating respective opponents.

They are realistic about the chances of gaining points from the tough games ahead. The scheduling of Thursday’s press conference makes a dismissal before Saturday's game more unlikely.
