LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Deion Sanders said he was grateful to Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis for allowing him to enjoy a milestone moment in his son's career.
The Colorado Buffaloes head coach spoke about attending the Raiders game against the Cleveland Browns at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday as Shedeur Sanders made his first NFL start.
"I'm thankful for just being allowed to sit up in a box with the opposing- the owner of the opposing team allowed the dad of the quarterback of the opposing team to sit in his box," Deion Sanders said at his Tuesday press conference. "Like, how many times did that happen? Like, that is so unbelievable, man. I'm so thankful and appreciative for that opportunity and that moment."
The elder Sanders noted it was the first time he got to watch his son play as a spectator after serving as Shedeur's coach at the high school and college levels.
"It was good and it was healthy, 'cause I was just in straight dad mode," he said. "I wasn't in coach mode, and I loved that."
It might not have been quite as fun for Davis, as the Raiders lost the matchup against Shedeur Sanders and the Browns 24-10.
The Raiders are now 2-9 on the season, and hours after the game, Las Vegas coach Pete Carroll announced that offensive coordinator Chip Kelly had been fired.
