Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, and Tottenham may wait until the summer transfer window to sign 25-year-old Bournemouth attacker Antoine Semenyo.
According to a report by Football Insider, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Antoine Semenyo. The four Premier League bigwigs are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a versatile attacker. However, instead of pursuing the 25-year-old Bournemouth star in January, they may wait until the summer to secure his services.
How has Antoine Semenyo become a hot property?
Antoine Semenyo has established himself as one of the best attackers in the Premier League since joining Bournemouth from Bristol City in January 2023. The 25-year-old winger did not take long to land on his feet at the Vitality Stadium, and he has made significant progress in the last three years.
The Ghanaian international has followed up an excellent 2024/25 campaign with a solid start to the new campaign, amassing six goals and three assists in 12 Premier League appearances thus far. Meanwhile, Semenyo’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, and Tottenham Hotspur.
A man in demand
The Ghanaian international has been on Liverpool’s radar for a long time. The continued interest makes sense, as Mohamed Salah is on the wrong side of 30 and approaching the twilight of his career. Additionally, the Liverpool talisman may depart from Anfield next summer. So, the Reds have set their sights on the Bournemouth attacker as a long-term replacement for their long-serving forward.
Meanwhile, Manchester United’s interest in Antoine Semenyo is understandable. The Red Devils reinforced their offensive unit by signing Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko in the summer transfer window. However, they need more firepower in January, as Mbeumo will leave for the Africa Cup of Nations. So, Semenyo is a viable target for Manchester United. As for Manchester City, Pep Guardiola wants more firepower in the final third.
So, Semenyo is an option worth considering for Manchester City. As for Tottenham, Richarlison faces an uncertain future at the North London club, and the Lilywhites are yet to sign a long-term successor to Son Heung-min. So, Semenyo is a viable target for Tottenham. However, the Premier League bigwigs will likely wait until the summer transfer window instead of signing the London-born winger in January.
While Semenyo has a release clause of £65 million in his contract with Bournemouth, the figure will drop to around £50 million in the summer transfer window. So, it is hardly surprising that Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, and Tottenham may wait until the summer transfer window to sign the 25-year-old Ghanaian international.
