Andy Robertson shares what he thinks of Liverpool fans leaving Anfield early vs Nottingham Forest

Liverpool’s performance vs Nottingham Forest was one of their worst of the season.

Reds supporters will not know what has hit them this season as their title defence is all but over as early as November.

They find themselves 11 points off the top, with their 3-0 defeat at home to Forest leaving them in the bottom half of the table.

Many fans had clearly seen enough of the performance at the weekend too as the majority left early, something that does not happen at Anfield often at all.

This shows just how poor Liverpool have been, and Andy Robertson has had his say about the fans who left early.

Andy Robertson understands the fans leaving

Anfield is usually a fortress where opposing teams do not get a moment to breathe, but this season it has been far from that.

Bar the Real Madrid game, it has not been as loud as it once was, with the performances a big reason for this.

And on Saturday, many supporters reached boiling point as they decided to leave the ground before the full-time whistle, although Robertson has admitted that he does not blame them one bit.

“Yeah, look, I’ve been very lucky that I’ve probably not experienced that too many times since I’ve been here,” he said on Sky Sports.

“But obviously, Saturday was evident at the final whistle that most people had left and I do not blame them one, you know, one single bit.

Who will win Liverpool vs PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday?

“Three-nil down at home to Nottingham Forest is unacceptable. And, you know, I’ve got no problems with them leaving.

“The important thing is they try and stick with us because we know how powerful Anfield can be when it is best. And that’s when the players are at their best and the fans are at their best.”

Anfield needs to be bouncing for the PSV game

When things get tough, Liverpool fans are usually very good at sticking together and getting behind their team, and this is what needs to happen now.

Next up, they have PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League, with this being a competition that, if they go deep into, can save Slot’s job.

The Dutch side are on an unbeaten streak right now, so to get out of this mess, Anfield needs to be bouncing, fuelling the players to really kick on.

At a time of uncertainty, togetherness could be enough to get the team through this, with this needing to start from now.
