“Something magical” – PSV Eindhoven sent Liverpool warning despite Reds form

PSV Eindhoven have been warned not to get ahead of themselves when they take on Liverpool this evening.

Boudewijn Zenden provides [the advice today to Sportnieuws.nl.](https://sportnieuws.nl/voetbal/nieuws/boudewijn-zenden-waarschuwt-psv-voor-afgang-tegen-liverpool-als-we-dat-allemaal-denken-2025112513270814071/) Liverpool host PSV Eindhoven at Anfield tonight in the Champions League.

They head into the game in the midst of a terrible run of form. They’ve lost six of their last seven Premier League games, including a 3-0 loss to Nottingham Forest last weekend.

They’ve fared better in the Champions League, winning four of their last five so far. That includes a 1-0 win over Real Madrid at Anfield at the beginning of the month.

But things are certainly not comfortable for Arne Slot’s side at this moment in time. Pressure is mounting on the Dutch coach to turn things around.

The opportunity is there for PSV Eindhoven to secure a famous victory on Merseyside. They head into the game in excellent form, unbeaten in 11 games including eight wins. They will certainly fancy their chances after Nottingham Forest’s win on Saturday.

But Zenden has warned them to avoid getting ahead of themselves. He played for both sides and knows Anfield can do “something magical”.

“I know better than anyone what it’s like to play at Anfield as a home team,” he said.

“But I also know what it does when you get there as a guest, It’s a fantastic experience, especially on Champions League nights that has something magical.

“That does something with players and then there always seems to be some extra things coming up. You saw that against Real Madrid.

“You always have a chance, and you may wonder if this is the right time. PSV certainly have a chance, but you always have to be careful. If we all think they have a chance now, you’ll go there by 5-0.

“PSV has to make sure they get ahead, because that might make the chance of a stunt a little bit bigger.”
