Dan Campbell has clear Micah Parsons demand for Lions players

Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell wants his team to be focused on Micah Parsons on Thursday. The defensive end/linebacker has made a strong impact on the Green Bay Packers’ defense, and the Lions learned that he is a dangerous asset in the season opener.

The Lions will host the Packers on Thursday for their traditional Thanksgiving game. Campbell made it clear that the battle between the offensive line and Parsons will be crucial for the victory. On Tuesday, he broke down what makes Parsons such a special player.

“We know he’s a dynamic player, he’s a dynamic rusher,” Campbell said in a video produced by the Lions. “This guy plays hard, he’s got a quick first step, he’s powerful, he’s quick.”

He then revisited a clip of Parsons going through multiple Steelers players to sack Aaron Rodgers during the Packers’ 35-25 victory on Oct. 26.

“You see him club the tight end, nudges him, already beats that,” Campbell said. “Then the tackle engages him, then the slide comes to him, the guard gets on him and he beats both of them. And that’s just it. If you’re going to use that many resources, you have to stop this guy. And he’ll just keep coming.”

Parsons finished that game with one tackle, one sack, one tackle for loss and one quarterback hit. All in one play. The former Dallas Cowboys star is playing at a high level, posting 30 tackles, 10 sacks and one forced fumble in 11 games. He’s four sacks away from tying his career-high.

The Packers upset the Lions 27-13 in Week 1, with Parsons recording one tackle, one sack, one tackle for loss and one quarterback hit as well.

With the Chicago Bears (8-3) leading the NFC North division standings, these teams know they must win this game. Otherwise, the race for the title will get more difficult.
