Chelsea are not going to rest on their laurels after hammering Barcelona 3-0 in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali are ambitious owners. Under them, the club are going to want to win Europe’s elite competition, as well as the Premier League.

To do that, it looks like more arrivals at Stamford Bridge are likely, with the signing of a new goalkeeper seemingly possible.
Robert Sanchez has been solid this season, but it is thought that Chelsea still retain an interest in AC Milan’s Mike Maignan.

Chelsea working on Mike Maignan signing
According to Sky Sport CH, Chelsea have reopened discussions with Maignan’s representatives in a bid to finally land the 30-year-old.
Chelsea were interested in signing Maignan in the summer but never managed to agree a fee with Milan.
Who is Chelsea’s best goalkeeper?
The Frenchman remained at the San Siro as a result but is almost certain to leave at the end of the season.
Maignan’s contract expires next June, and there have been no indications that he will sign a new one.
While Maignan could be arriving at Stamford Bridge, one goalkeeper could depart before then.
Filip Jorgensen is open to leaving Chelsea in search of more game time ahead of next year’s World Cup. The Denmark international is yet to make a single appearance in the Premier League this term.

Mike Maignan and Robert Sanchez having similar seasons
Chelsea really should be asking themselves whether they still need Maignan. Again, Sanchez is doing a fine job in goal right now, while his stats are quite similar to Maignan’s at this moment in time.
Maignan has a higher save percentage, but they have both conceded the same number of goals, while Sanchez has actually managed to keep more clean sheets.

Mike Maignan 11 9 0.85 81.1% 4
Robert Sanchez 12 9 0.81 67.9% 6

Of course, if Jorgensen leaves, Chelsea will need to add a new goalkeeper to their squad. However, they have the option of integrating Mike Penders into Enzo Maresca‘s first team.
