Liverpool 0-3 Nottingham Forest: Match Review

Liverpool team confirmed to face PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League at Anfield.

Liverpool have a new absence as they face PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League at Anfield.

The Reds are missing No.1 goalkeeper Alisson Becker for match-day five of the league phase. The Brazil international returned from a hamstring injury in last weekend’s chastening 3-0 loss to Nottingham Forest.

Alisson has not sustained a fresh injury, though. It is understood the stopper is absent from Arne Slot’s squad because of illness so Giorgi Mamardashvili deputises between the posts.

That is one of two changes from the Forest defeat as pressure is on Slot to deliver a triumph, with Liverpool suffering six losses in their past seven Premier League games. Alexander Isak drops to the bench, with Hugo Ekitike spearheading the attack.

In addition, it appears Curtis Jones may play at right-back with Conor Bradley and Jeremie Frimpong still unavailable. Domink Szoboszlai operated in the role against Forest. Florian Wirtz remains sidelined because of injury.

Liverpool: Mamardashvili, Jones, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez, Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Salah, Ekitike, Gakpo.

Subs: Woodman, Misciur, Gomez, Endo, Isak, Chiesa, Robertson, Nyoni, Ngumoha.
