The NFL has named Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt as its AFC offensive player of the week for Week 12 of the 2025 NFL season.
This is Hunt’s second offensive player of the week award. He also won it in Week 9 of 2018.
Filling in for injured starter Isiah Pacheco, Hunt had 30 carries for 104 yards and a touchdown (plus three catches for 26 yards) during Sunday’s come-from-behind, 23-20 overtime win over the Indianapolis Colts, which moved the Chiefs to 6-5 for the season and kept their 2025 playoff hopes alive.
With 33 offensive touches, the game tied with Week 16 of Hunt’s 2017 rookie season for the heaviest workload of his NFL career. In the 2017 game against the Miami Dolphins — which the Chiefs won 29-13 — Hunt had 29 carries for 91 yards and a touchdown, plus four receptions for 15 yards.
Hunt also lost a fumble on Sunday. It was only the seventh fumble of his eight-year career — and the first one he’d lost since the first touch of his career back in 2017.
In Week 14’s other AFC awards, the Cleveland Browns’ defensive end Myles Garrett was named defensive player of the week, while the New England Patriots’ placekicker Andres Borregales was awarded special teams player of the week.
