Thunder vs. Timberwolves: The matchup
The Thunder are on a nine-game win streak since losing their first – and only – game of the NBA season on the road to the Portland Trail Blazers (121-119) back on Nov. 5. Oklahoma City is off to a 17-1 start while scoring 100-plus points in all 18 of its games, averaging the third-most points per game (122.6 ppg) in the NBA while allowing the fewest (105.7 ppg) and logging a massive plus-16.9 scoring differential. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander continues to pace a deep, talented OKC team as he averages 32.2 points per night, third-best in the NBA, and seeks a fourth straight season averaging 30+ points.

The Timberwolves arrive in Oklahoma City as 10.5-point underdogs who have played and lost back-to-back close games to the Phoenix Suns (114-113) and Sacramento Kings (117-112 in OT) to open their current three-game road swing. Those setbacks came and sent Minnesota to 10-7 on the season and the No. 7 spot in the Western Conference standings, despite the fact that Edwards scored 40-plus points in both. In the OT loss to Sacramento, Edwards scored 43 on 16-of-19 shooting while the rest of the Wolves’ roster connected on just 35.2% percent of its shots.
