John Terry reckons Chelsea player is now one of the best in the world after watching him vs Barcelona

As the dust settles from Chelsea’s thrilling win against Barcelona in the Champions League group stages, a number of their players are getting the praise they deserve.

The Blues were electric in the final third in particular, after Enzo Maresca made the decision to target their opponents’ suicidal high line.

Pedro Neto started up front ahead of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro, with him starring alongside Estevao Willian and Alejandro Garnacho.

They were on top for the majority of the game, and were able to be so because of how well their backline performed up against the likes of Lamine Yamal and Robert Lewandowski.

John Terry names Marc Cucurella as one of the best left-backs in the world

The catalyst for their success was Marc Cucurella, who was playing like he had a point to prove to the side who didn’t give him appropriate chances after he came through the academy.

John Terry was left very impressed with what he saw from the Spaniard, describing him as one of the best left-backs in the world.

He said on his TikTok: “I also have to speak about Cucurella, how good was he last night? I’m going to put it out there. He is one of the best left-backs in world football at the moment.

“He is everything I want to see in a Chelsea player at the moment, aggression, great one vs one, a threat going forwards, the threat he shows in every aspect of his game is what I love about him as a player.”

Wayne Rooney echoed those thoughts while providing commentary for the game, saying that the performance was one of the best he had seen from a left-back in a long time.

John Terry in awe of Chelsea performance

The club legend was in attendance at Stamford Bridge for the game, and made sure he handed out plenty of praise to those who deserved it.

Terry was in awe of Estevao, as most of the Chelsea fans were, with him very much winning the battle of the wonderkids against Yamal.

The pace of Neto impressed Terry too, with Maresca now having a choice to make when it comes to the frontline on Sunday.

It is unlikely Arsenal deploy the same tactics which the 10-man Barcelona did, and this will likely see one of Liam Delap or Joao Pedro return to the starting side.
