Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe scored a remarkable hat-trick in less than seven minutes against Olympiacos on Wednesday night.

The Frenchman, 26, has been in superb scoring form for Real Madrid this season, with 18 goals to his name from 17 matches ahead of the club's Champions League clash in Greece.

Olympiacos stunned the Spanish visitors early on with a goal against the run of play, taking the lead through Chiquinho in the eighth minute.

But the Greek club soon found themselves staring at a 3-1 deficit heading into half-time, after Mbappe turned on the style with a sensational, rapid-fire hat-trick.

The French international struck in the 22nd, 24th and 29th minute of the match, clocking his hat-trick in an incredible six minutes and 42 seconds.

It marks the second fastest hat-trick in Champions League history, with the quickest having been scored by Liverpool's Mohamed Salah against Rangers in 2022.

The Egyptian, who came off the bench during Liverpool's 7-1 win over the Scottish giants, netted his in just six minutes and 12 seconds.

Mbappe's first-half goal spree takes his Champions League tally to eight from just five appearances so far this season, while his LaLiga record of 13 from 13 is similarly impressive.

Real Madrid, who sit at the top of LaLiga a point ahead of bitter rivals Barcelona, have enjoyed a more fruitful league phase in the Champions League under Xabi Alonso this campaign, having failed to qualify as part of the top eight last term.

Alonso started Vinicius Jr despite ongoing reports that the Brazilian has told the club he does not wish to renew a contract at the Bernabeu, following a reported fallout with the Spanish manager.

The Brazilian, whose contract at the Bernabeu runs until the summer of 2027, reportedly communicated his position to club president Florentino Perez during a private conversation late last month.

Jude Bellingham was named on the bench for the trip to Greece, while England team-mate Trent Alexander-Arnold started the match at right-back.
