FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — According to head coach Raheem Morris, the Falcons are trending in a direction that may not include Drake London for the second consecutive week. London missed last Sunday's win in New Orleans with a PCL sprain that he sustained a week before against the Carolina Panthers.
"You say doubtful," Morris said of London's potential game status. "He's moving around well. He's doing some things. You always take those kind of guys up to the last minute. But week to week? I don't think it's this week."
The Falcons will continue to rely on players like Darnell Mooney and David Sills V to fill in at the receiver spot, both of whom caught their first touchdown passes on the year last Sunday against the Saints. Kirk Cousins will continue to lead the Falcons at the quarterback position as Michael Penix Jr. underwent surgery to repair a partially torn ACL Tuesday. Defensive back Billy Bowman Jr. also went under the knife this week to repair a reported ruptured Achilles tendon.
In other injury news, the Falcons still have their two starting offensive guards working through injuries. Matthew Bergeron (ankle) was a limited participant Wednesday, while Chris Lindstrom (foot) did not participate.
