Alvin Kamara didn't participate in Wednesday's Saints practice, and another star left early

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara did not participate in the team's first Week 13 practice, and receiver Chris Olave left midway through the session with a back injury.

Coach Kellen Moore described Olave's issue as "not a big deal" after the star wideout limped off the field early in Wednesday's practice. Olave was officially listed as limited on the practice report.

Kamara's absence was expected after he left last week's game against the Atlanta Falcons in the first quarter with a knee injury. The veteran running back briefly looked like he was going back in the game, but ultimately went to the locker room early.

The Saints signed practice squad running back Evan Hull to the active roster earlier this week, and replaced him on the practice squad with former Howard University back Ian Wheeler — two moves that suggest the Saints are bracing for Kamara's absence this week against the Miami Dolphins.

Rookie Devin Neal, who is expected to step into the No. 1 role if Kamara can't go, was limited in Wednesday's practice with an ankle injury. Right tackle Taliese Fuaga, who has missed the last two games with an ankle injury, was also limited.

The Dolphins had 10 limited participants on their injury report, including starters Bradley Chubb (foot), Rasul Douglas (foot/ankle) and Jaylen Waddle (foot).
