Lions make Frank Ragnow’s return official, handful of roster moves before Thanksgiving

ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions made [Frank Ragnow’s return official](https://www.mlive.com/lions/2025/11/all-pro-frank-ragnow-ends-retirement-to-rejoin-detroit-lions-for-playoff-push.html), while announcing a whole bunch of roster moves before tomorrow’s Thanksgiving game against the Green Bay Packers.

[Ragnow](https://www.mlive.com/lions/2025/11/why-frank-ragnows-return-is-exactly-what-the-detroit-lions-need.html) has been moved from the reserve/retired list to the exempt/commissioner permission list.

Veteran pass rusher Marcus Davenport has been activated from injured reserve. Davenport (shoulder) remains questionable for the game. He’s been back at practice for a couple of weeks after landing on injured reserve back in Week 2.

Davenport is a talented, powerful pass rusher who fits Detroit’s needs. But he’s played only four games in two seasons with the team. The Lions have been using Alim McNeill on the defensive edges more, with Tyleik Williams and Roy Lopez seeing more work next to DJ Reader on the interior.

“It would be big to be able to get him back,” Lions coach Dan Campbell said of Davenport. “He’s done a lot to get back, the amount of work that he’s put in and the amount of rehab. And look, it’s not his fault things have happened. All you can do is go back to work and do everything you can to return and get your body healed up and come back better than you were. And he’s done everything that that requires.”

The Lions also activated rookie offensive lineman Miles Frazier (knee) from the PUP list. Frazier has also been back at practice and is nearing his return after missing all of training camp and the preseason due to a spring injury.

And to fill some holes for Thanksgiving due to Kalif Raymond and Brock Wright being ruled out, the Lions have signed veteran tight end Anthony Firkser and wide receiver Tom Kennedy from their practice squad.

They waived running back Craig Reynolds to help make room for those moves. Reynolds appeared in seven games this season, spending most of his time on special teams. Jacob Saylors and Sione Vaki have been back, and Reynolds was a healthy scratch last week against the New York Giants.

And to further help fill some voids, with Graham Glasgow (knee) ruled out, the Lions elevated interior offensive lineman Kingsley Eguakun and tight end Zach Horton from the practice squad.

Expect to see Trystan Colon start at center for Glasgow against the Packers. He’ll have Kayode Awosika at his left side, while Tate Ratledge is expected to play through his knee issue despite being questionable. Green Bay has a ton of talent on its defensive line, and not just in pass rushers. Colon and Awosika will have to hold it down against a potent unit, with Devonte Wyatt (7.5 sacks) and Colby Wooden presenting a stiff test.

Raymond’s absence creates a hole at receiver and on special teams. Kennedy helps fill both of those roles and is a prime candidate to field punt returns with Raymond missing this game.

Isaac TeSlaa is questionable with a new hand injury. However, this could be a prime opportunity for him to get a couple more targets finally. He’s played 20-plus snaps in three games, battling through an oblique injury in the process, but hasn’t had a catch since Oct. 5.

“We like where TeSlaa’s at. He’s had a ton of growth. And look, we went into this year saying, ‘Hey, let’s let this guy grow,’” Campbell said. “There will be a place for him on special teams, and he’ll be a spot player on offense. And then once he proves that there’s more than that, then that’s what he is until then. Knowing that, man, he’s got room to grow, and we love the clay. We love to be able to mold that clay.

“He’s gotten better and better and better. And we are, we’re asking him to do more. And so, I do believe it’s going to come. I do believe he’ll get an uptick in production; he’ll get used to a little bit more here. But I like where he’s at, he’s doing a good job.”
