Kansas City Chiefs Star Named Week 12 AFC Offensive Player of the Week

The Kansas City Chiefs have a short week, but there is still some time to look back and celebrate how they did in Week 12 against the Indianapolis Colts. The team was able to step up and had one of their key players finish as the Week 12 AFC Offensive Player of the Week. Let’s take a closer look at who it is and what their stats looked like.

Kansas City Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt Named AFC Offensive Player of the Week

The Kansas City Chiefs relied on the running game in order to keep drives going, and running back Kareem Hunt delivered. He finished the game with 30 rushing attempts for a season-high 104 yards (3.5 yards per carry) with a rushing touchdown while also adding three catches for 26 yards. Hunt also lost a fumble, but that did not slow him down as the Chiefs came back to win, and Hunt was named the Week 12 AFC Offensive Player of the Week.

However, this may not be something he is able to build upon this performance as Isiah Pacheco is expected to be healthy for Thursday’s game on the road against the Dallas Cowboys. With a short week and a career-high in rushing attempts, it would be difficult to expect a similar performance.

With the Kansas City Chiefs needing to figure out how to win games in order to get into the playoff picture, they finally were able to have a running game the team could depend on to pick up first downs. With the team ranking 14th in the NFL with 119.3 rushing yards per game, this will be a great sign for things to come if Hunt is running like this going forward.
