Packers make important Josh Jacobs decision before Lions Thanksgiving game

Hopes are high that Green Bay Packers star running back Josh Jacobs will be able to see action this coming Thursday in a Thanksgiving Day matchup on the road against the Detroit Lions. Jacobs, who suffered a bruised knee inWeek 11’s 27-20 win at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.

That injury forced Jacobs to be ruled out for Week 12’s meeting at Lambeau Field against the visiting Minnesota Vikings, though his absence didn’t really much negative impact on Green Bay’s attack, thanks in large part to the play of backup running back Emanuel Wilson, who stepped up and delivered the goods on the ground.

Starting in place of Jacobs,Wilson gashed Minnesota’s stop unit for 107 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries.

But Wilson will have to take a step back, with Jacobs expected to assume his RB1 duties again.

Running back Josh Jacobs (knee) did not receive a game status for Thursday and will play. He missed Sunday’s 23-6 win over Minnesota after injuring his knee on the second play against the New York Giants the previous week.

With Jacobs back, Green Bay will look to draw another productive outing from their top rushing weapon versus the Lions, who had trouble preventing him from finding the end zone in Week 1. In that contest, Jacobs rushed 19 times and finished with 66 rushing yards and a touchdown to help Green Bay come away with a 27-13 win at Lambeau Field.
