Liverpool would reportedly have to pay significant compensation to Arne Slot if they were to sack him following their 4-1 loss to PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League.
The reigning Premier League champions endured another game to forget on Wednesday as they fell to a second straight humiliating defeat in front of their home fans.
After losing 3-0 to Nottingham Forest at the weekend, Liverpool were torn apart by PSV in a defeat that once again exposed their weaknesses at the back and extended their nightmare run.
Slot’s side have now suffered nine defeats in their past 12 games in all competitions and lost three successive games by three goals or more, with the Dutch tactician under increasing pressure after yet another damning result.
Liverpool’s Cost to Sack Arne Slot Revealed

Unless Slot walked away from his Anfield role and resigned, Liverpool would be required to pay a substantial sum if they decided to part ways with the Dutchman before his contract runs out.
Slot, who took over from Jurgen Klopp in the summer of 2024, penned a three-year deal with the Merseysiders, keeping him at the club until June 2027.
According to reports in the Dutch media, Slot is understood to earn £6.6m per year excluding bonuses, meaning Liverpool would have to pay over £10m if they decided to sack the under-fire head coach in the near future.
Asked whether he was concerned about his future at the club following the 4-1 defeat to PSV, Slot said:
"I'm not worried. My focus is on other things than worrying about my own position. I try to analyze, try to help the players as much as I can, and it's obvious that I don't do it in the way I did that last season."

Liverpool have not had this sort of abysmal run for the last seven decades. The Reds have suffered nine defeats in 12 matches for the first time since the 1953-54 season, while the last time they oversaw three consecutive losses by three goals or more was in December 1953.
Slot’s side have slipped to 12th in the Premier League amid their disappointing results, trailing leaders Arsenal by 11 points, while in the Champions League they are sitting even lower – 13th after five games.
The Reds have been unrecognisable on both ends of the pitch lately, with the centre-back pairing of Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk subjects of heavy criticism again on Wednesday.
Steven Gerrard: Liverpool Not in Crisis

Speaking after the game on Wednesday, former Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard gave his verdict on the Reds’ run of form, claiming it is too early to call the recent results a 'crisis'.
The ex-Rangers boss instead called it a 'rut', saying it would be disrespectful for both players and the manager to label Liverpool’s current form as anything more severe at the moment.
