Ryan Gravenberch has admitted he and his Liverpool teammates are "angry" after the defeat to PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League. The latest loss has led to even more speculation about Arne Slot's future at the club.

Liverpool were beaten 4-1 by PSV on Wednesday night at Anfield to record their third consecutive loss across all competitions. All three of those games have seen the Reds lose by a three-goal margin - Manchester City and Nottingham Forest the other recent victors against the reigning Premier League champions.

A run of six defeats across seven matches in the Premier League has seen Liverpool fall to 12th place in the table ahead of their trip to West Ham at the weekend.

Liverpool's disappointing run of form has now continued in Europe, with the defeat to PSV seeing the club drop to 13th place in the league phase standings.

Gravenberch was asked to put his emotions into words after Liverpool's defeat to PSV, and made a worrying admission.

“What can I say about today, we are just angry," Gravenberch told TNT Sports. "Angry that we lost.

“I think in the first half we didn’t even play badly. We created a lot of chances. In the second half - it went really wrong.”

Gravenberch's comments come after Slot was asked about his future as Liverpool's head coach.

“I don’t think it’s important if it’s fair or not,” Slot said when asked about his job security as Liverpool boss. “But that is normal. That I understand.

“If any manager around the world loses football games, let alone so many as we’ve lost, it’s quite normal that people have an opinion about that.

“And if that’s fair or not fair, that’s for the people to judge. But that is normal. I think it is that if you lose so many times, that people start talking about that.

“I think it’s a shock for everyone. For the players, for the journalists over here, for me. For everyone this is a shock that is very, very, very unexpected when you look at the quality we are having."
