Liverpool have endured a miserable second season under Arne Slot and despite their rotten form, Reds icon Steven Gerrard does not believe that the Reds have yet been plunged into a crisis

Steven Gerrard has rejected claims of a Liverpool crisis - but believes one could materialise unless results improve. The Reds are in the midst of a woeful run of form under Arne Slot.
Things got even worse on Wednesday evening as the reigning Premier League champions were torn apart 4-1 by Dutch side PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League at Anfield.
It means that the Reds have lost nine of their last 12 games in all competitions, with their hopes of silverware looking more and more remote by the week. But despite that form, Liverpool legend Gerrard believes claims of a crisis are slightly premature.
“Each defeat, especially the manner of defeat, you become closer to the crisis. I don’t like using the word crisis because a crisis to me is a club that needs years to get back to the top.
“I don’t think Liverpool are at that point at all. They’ve still got magnificent players. This is still the majority of a squad that won the league a few months ago.
“So I think crisis is too strong. But you can’t deny that this team is struggling massively.”
Gerrard’s assessment comes just weeks after Roy Keane had claimed Liverpool had already reached crisis-point following their defeat to Manchester City. He also suggested that Slot’s side were not contenders for the Premier League crown.
He said: "At this moment in time you can't be considering Liverpool for the Premier League title; that's five losses now.

"I think it is crisis time for Liverpool, to lose seven in 10 with five league losses this season, it has to be a crisis for a team like Liverpool.
"Defensively they are all over the place. The full-backs are a huge problem, the centre-half [Ibrahima Konaté] looks a nervous wreck.
"You watch players dangling their legs, it's not what champions do. Put your body on the line. If you are not at it as a team and are a little bit off get the basics right, stopping crosses and being difficult to play against. From Liverpool's point of view, how badly to they want it?"
Liverpool will be aiming to turn around their woeful form this weekend as they travel to struggling West Ham. Another defeat could potentially put Liverpool just three points clear of the relegation zone heading into a hectic festive period of games both in the Premier League and in Europe.
