Consistency hasn't been on the Green Bay Packers' side this season, but they seem to have righted the ship after falling from the No. 1 seed in the NFC to the No. 7 seed in a span of two weeks.
The Packers enter Thanksgiving fresh off perhaps their best performance of the season, a dominant defensive win over the Minnesota Vikings that kept them in the thick of the NFC North race. Green Bay is looking to keep the momentum going in Detroit on Thanksgiving.
The Packers and Detroit Lions are not the only factors in the NFC North race. The Chicago Bears have jumped out to an unlikely lead in the division, though the order could change in a hurry during the holiday weekend.
Here's a complete look at the Packers' place in both the NFC North and NFC wild-card races.

Packers playoff picture
The Packers enter Week 13 as the NFC's No. 6 seed at 7-3-1, trailing narrowly in the NFC North and only clinging to a playoff spot by a half-game margin.
NFC North standings
Rank Team Record GB
1 Bears 8-3 —
2 Packers 7-3-1 0.5
3 Lions 7-4 1.0
4 Vikings 4-7 4.0
The Packers trail the Bears by a half-game in the NFC North and have a half-game advantage over the Lions.
A Packers win over Detroit on Thursday would put Green Bay in sole possession of first place in the NFC North if the Bears lose to the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday. A loss, on the other hand, would guarantee the Packers enter Week 14 placed third in the division.

A crowded NFC wild-card picture still leaves the Packers at risk of missing the playoffs, as Green Bay only leads the Lions by a half-game with Detroit sitting outside the playoff picture. The Packers do have a more comfortable lead over the rest of the NFC teams currently outside the playoff picture, but one team sitting at least three games over .500 entering Week 13 is going to be squeezed out of the playoffs when all is said and done.
The good news for Packers fans is they likely won't have to worry much about tiebreakers this season, barring another tie. Because Green Bay's Week 4 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys finished in a tie, the Packers can't finish with the same record as any team other than Dallas unless another NFC contender settles for a tie.
