Arsenal have FC Midtjylland’s Franculino Djú on their transfer agenda, according to Campo in Denmark.
The striker joined the Danish club on a free transfer in July 2023, after a spell at Benfica’s academy.
He’s been a standout player for Midtjylland this season, scoring 19 goals and contributing three assists from 27 matches. This has seen him catch the attention of several clubs and Arsenal are among them.
It’s claimed the ‘interest is the forward is greater than ever’ and Arsenal are mentioned immediately. The report indicates the Gunners’ interest isn’t new as they already looked at him last year.
As well as Mikel Arteta’s side, Bayern Munich and Barcelona are in the picture to sign the 21-year-old. Everton were linked last summer and are still said to be keen on securing his services.
On November 7th, we covered claims from Denmark that Everton scouted Franculino this season. Midtjylland manager Mike Tullberg has already warned his side not to sell the Guinea-Bissau international in the winter market.
Midtjylland’s Darío Osorio told Campo that he’s confident Franculino will succeed if he were to join a top club.
“His level is high enough that he can go as far as he wants. He knows how far he wants to go and if he decides to go, I believe he can achieve it,” he said.
Arsenal signed Viktor Gyökeres last summer. If Gabriel Jesus were to leave the Emirates, the Gunners could try and replace the Brazilian with Franculino.
With Midtjylland refusing to let him leave in January, Arsenal or another club may have to wait until next summer.
